With Daytime Running Light System

PARKING LAMP CIRCUIT:_:WITH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM





Component Function Check

NOTE:
Check the daytime running light relay circuit first if the parking lamp, tail lamp, license plate lamp and side marker lamp are not turned ON. Daytime Running Light Relay Circuit.
1.CHECK PARKING LAMP OPERATION
IPDM E/R AUTO ACTIVE TEST
1. Activate IPDM E/R auto active test. Diagnosis Description.
2. Check that the parking lamp is turned ON.
CONSULT-III ACTIVE TEST
1. Select "EXTERNAL LAMPS" of IPDM E/R active test item.
2. With operating the test items, check that the parking lamp is turned ON.






Is the parking lamp turned ON?
YES - Parking lamp circuit is normal.
NO - SEE Diagnosis Procedure.




Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK PARKING LAMP BULB
Check the applicable lamp bulb.
Is the bulb normal?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - Replace the bulb.
2.CHECK PARKING LAMP OPEN CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Remove the daytime running light relay.
3. Disconnect the front combination lamp connector.
4. Check continuity between the daytime running light relay harness connector and the front combination lamp harness connector.





Does continuity exist?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - Repair the harnesses or connectors.
3.CHECK PARKING LAMP SHORT CIRCUIT
Check continuity between the daytime running light relay harness connector and the ground.





Does continuity exist?
YES - Repair the harnesses or connectors.
NO - GO TO 4.
4.CHECK PARKING LAMP GROUND OPEN CIRCUIT
Check continuity between the front combination lamp harness connector and the ground.





Does continuity exist?
YES - Replace the front combination lamp.
NO - Repair the harnesses or connectors.
