Intake Valve Timing Control





INTAKE VALVE TIMING CONTROL


Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve


REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the 12-volt negative battery terminal. Removal And Installation.
2. Remove the engine room cover.
3. Remove the engine mount stay. Removal and Replacement.
4. Support engine with suitable jack.
5. Remove (RH) upper engine mount. Removal and Replacement.
6. Remove (RH) upper engine mount bracket. Removal and Replacement.
7. Disconnect intake valve timing control solenoid valve connector.





8. Loosen intake valve timing control cover bolts in the numerical order as shown.
9. Remove the intake valve timing control cover using tool.










10. Remove intake valve timing control solenoid valve bolt.





11. Remove intake valve timing control solenoid valve (1) and Oring (2) from intake valve timing control solenoid valve cover.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
Replace the O-ring for the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve with a new one, then lubricate Oring with engine oil before installing.





1. Install intake valve timing control solenoid valve (1) and O-ring
(2) to intake valve timing control solenoid valve cover.





2. Install intake valve timing control solenoid valve cover with the following procedure:





a. Apply Silicone RTV Sealant to the intake valve timing control solenoid valve cover as shown.
- Apply Genuine Silicone RTV Sealant or equivalent, to positions specified as shown. Recommended Chemical Products And Sealants.





b. Tighten the intake valve timing control solenoid valve cover bolts in the numerical order as shown.
