DTC DETECTION LOGIC
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.
1. PREPARATION BEFORE WORK
If another "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" occurs just before, turn ignition switch OFF and wait for atleast 10 seconds, then perform the next test.
- GO TO 2.
2. PRECONDITIONING
1.Turn ignition switch ON.
2.Select "Data Monitor" in "TRANSMISSION".
3.Select "ATF TEMP SEN".
Is "ATF TEMP SEN" value within 2.03 - 0.16 V?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO-1 ("ATF TEMP SEN" indicates 0.15 V or less.)-Go to "Diagnosis Procedure" .
NO-2 ("ATF TEMP SEN" indicates 2.04 V or more.)-GO TO 3.
3. CHECK DTC DETECTION
1.Start the engine.
2.Drive the vehicle.
3.Maintain the following conditions for 14 minutes or more.
Selector lever : D
Vehicle speed : More than 10 km/h (7 MPH)
4.Stop the vehicle.
5.Check the first trip DTC.
Is "P0711" detected?
YES- Go to "Diagnosis Procedure" .
NO- Go to "Component Function Check" .
Component Function Check
1. CHECK CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR (PART 1)
Check resistance between CVT unit harness connector terminals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- There is a malfunction of CVT fluid temperature sensor. Replace transaxle assembly. Refer to
"Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
Diagnosis Procedure
1. CHECK CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR
1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect CVT unit connector.
3.Check resistance between CVT unit connector terminals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- GO TO 4.
2. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN TCM AND CVT UNIT (CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR) (PART 1)
1.Disconnect the TCM connector.
2.Check continuity between TCM harness connector terminals and CVT unit harness connector terminals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts.
3. CHECK CIRCUIT BETWEEN TCM AND CVT UNIT (CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR) (PART 2)
Check continuity between TCM harness connector terminals and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Check intermittent incident. Refer to "Intermittent Incident" Intermittent Incident.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts.
4. CHECK TERMINAL CORD ASSEMBLY (PART 1)
1.Remove terminal cord assembly. Refer to "Exploded View" Exploded View.
2.Check continuity between CVT unit harness connector terminals and control valve harness connector terminals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 5.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts.
5. CHECK TERMINAL CORD ASSEMBLY (PART 2)
Check terminal cord assembly harness cladding for damage.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 6.
NO- Repair or replace damaged parts.
6. CHECK DTC (TCM)
With CONSULT
1.Perform "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE". Refer to "DTC Logic" .
2.Select "Self Diagnostic Results" in "TRANSMISSION".
Is "P0710" detected?
YES- There is a malfunction of the CVT fluid temperature sensor. Replace the transaxle assembly.
Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
NO- Check intermittent incident. Refer to "Intermittent Incident" Intermittent Incident.
Component Inspection
1. CHECK CVT FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Check resistance between CVT unit connector terminals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- There is a malfunction of CVT fluid temperature sensor. Replace transaxle assembly. Refer to
"Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
