Removal and Installation


REMOVAL






1.Disconnect the battery negative terminal (1).

CAUTION:
When disconnecting, disconnect the battery negative terminal first.
2.Disconnect the battery positive terminal (2).
3.Remove the battery wedge bolt (A) and remove the battery wedge bracket (3).
4.Remove the battery cover.
5.Remove the battery.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
- When connecting, connect the battery positive terminal first.
- Check battery terminals for poor connection caused by corrosion.

Battery wedge bracket bolt: 17.0 Nm (1.7 kg-m, 13 ft-lb)
Battery terminal nuts: 5.4 Nm (0.55 kg-m, 48 in-lb)
Reset electronic systems as necessary. Refer to "ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REMOVING BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL : Special Repair Requirement" Programming and Relearning.
