Fuel Pump And Fuel Gauge Sender Assembly:

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
3. Drain fuel tank. Refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL TANK DRAINING.
4. Remove fuel tank assembly. Refer to FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY.
5. Remove fuel pump and fuel gauge sending unit.
6. Disassemble the fuel pump and sending unit.

NOTE:

a. Always note position of fuel pump filter for correct reinstallation.
b. DO NOT run fuel pump unless it is submerged in fuel.

INSTALLATION

1. Assemble fuel pump and fuel gauge sending unit. Make sure to install the fuel pump filter in the manner in which it was removed.
2. Install the fuel pump and fuel gauge sending unit assembly into the fuel tank.
3. Install fuel tank assembly. Refer to FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY.
4. Add fuel and install fuel filler cap.
5. Connect negative battery terminal.
6. START engine and check for fuel leaks.
