REDUCTION OF ENGINE EXHAUST NOISE
(REPLACE MUFFLER AND/OR CATALYTIC CONVERTER HANGER)
MODELS:
1992-93 OLDSMOBILE BRAVADA T UTILITY
CONDITION:
Some owners may comment that their vehicle exhibits an undesirable level of engine exhaust noise. They may also indicate that there is an exhaust resonance or boom noise.
CAUSE:
Exhaust noise is due to the tuning of the exhaust system. Exhaust resonance or boom noise is due to the catalytic converter mount grounding out.
CORRECTION:
Exhaust noise levels can be reduced by replacing the muffler and tail pipe with a re-tuned muffler. Exhaust resonance can be corrected by replacing the catalytic converter hanger with a redesigned hanger.
