Keyless Entry System Operation
Keyless Entry Transmitter:
The remote lock control system is used to lock and unlock the vehicle's doors and liftgate. The receiver is part of the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver, installed behind the glove box. The transmitter, a hand-held item attached to a key ring, has two buttons that control the functions of the system.
The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver is battery fed and is always monitoring the transmitter signal. when the correct transmitter signal is received to lock all of the doors, a transistor driver will energize the driver's door lock and the lock control relay. The receiver will also control the unlocking of the driver's door or all doors.
The transmitter will transmit a radio signal to the receiver, which controls the functions of the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver. The range is approximately 10 meters (33 feet).
