Defroster Door Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to IP Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
3. Remove the heater/vent module.
4. Remove screws in order to separate the heater/vent module halves.




5. Disconnect the actuator linkage from the door end.
6. Remove the air temperature actuator.
7. Remove the defrost actuator.
8. Remove the air temperature door.
9. Remove the defrost door (2) from the lower module.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the defrost door (2) to the lower module.
2. Install the air temperature door.
3. Install the mode actuator.
4. Install the air temperature actuator.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




5. Install the screws to the heater/vent module halves.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

6. Connect the actuator linkage to the door end.
7. Install the heater/vent module.
8. Install the instrument panel. Refer to IP Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
