Mode Door Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
3. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to IP Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
4. Remove the HVAC module. Refer to Heater/Vent Module Replacement.
5. Remove screws in order to separate the HVAC module halves.
6. Disconnect the actuator linkage from the door ends.
7. Remove the air temperature actuator.
8. Remove the defrost actuator.
9. Remove the air temperature door.




10. Remove the mode door (1) from the module.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the defrost door (1) to the module.
2. Install the air temperature door.
3. Install the mode actuator.
4. Install the air temperature actuator.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




5. Install the screws in order to seal the HVAC module halves.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

6. Connect the actuator linkage to the door ends.
7. Install the HVAC module. Refer to Heater/Vent Module Replacement.
8. Install the instrument panel. Refer to IP Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
