Rear Energy Absorber Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Oldsmobile) (Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper (Oldsmobile))Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Pontiac) () .




2. Remove the rear object sensor wiring harness push-in retainers from the rear energy absorber if equipped.




3. Remove the rear energy absorber from the rear bumper fascia by pushing in on the locking tabs at the center of the rear bumper fascia and pulling out.



Installation Procedure





1. Align the rear energy absorber to the rear bumper fascia and push in to lock into place.




2. Press the rear object sensor wiring harness push-in retainers to the rear energy absorber until fully seated, if equipped.
3. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Oldsmobile) (Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper (Oldsmobile))Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Pontiac) ()
