Engine Splash Shield Replacement

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover


Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Use J 38778 in order to remove the push-in retainers from the engine compartment side rail.
3. Use J 38778 in order to remove the push-in retainers from the front fender liner at the engine splash shield.




4. Remove the front wheel speed jumper harness from the right engine splash shield. Refer to Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement.
5. Remove the engine splash from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure






Important: The ABS harness must be installed to the engine splash shield prior to installation of the engine splash shield to the body.


1. Install the front wheel speed jumper harness to the right engine splash shield. Refer to Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement.
2. Align the engine splash shield to the vehicle engine compartment side rail.
3. Install the push-in retainers to the engine compartment side rail.
4. Install the push-in retainers to the front fender liner at the engine splash shield.
5. Lower the vehicle.
