Discharge Hose Replacement
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
3. Remove the discharge line to condenser nut.
4. Disconnect the discharge line from the condenser.
5. Remove the discharge line to compressor nut.
6. Disconnect the discharge line from the compressor.
7. Remove the discharge line.
8. Discard the O-ring seal and sealing washer.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the A/C refrigerant hose and the A/C refrigerant component.
2. Lightly coat the new O-ring seal and sealing washer with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT allow any of the mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the new O-ring seal to enter the refrigerant system.
3. Carefully slide the new sealing washer onto the discharge line until seated.
4. Install the discharge line.
5. Connect the discharge line to the compressor.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the discharge line fitting nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
7. Install a new O-ring at the discharge line to condenser fitting.
8. Connect the discharge line to the condenser.
9. Install the discharge line to condenser fitting nut.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
10. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
11. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
12. Install the air cleaner assembly.
