Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR OR SWITCH REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the battery negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
3. Remove the electrical connector from the engine oil pressure sensor.
4. Remove the engine oil pressure switch.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the engine oil pressure switch.

Tighten
Tighten the switch to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

2. Install the electrical connector to the engine oil pressure switch.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Install the battery negative cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
