Rattle Type Noise Coming From Under the Vehicle (Reposition Transmission Oil Cooler Lines)

with 4.2L Engine (VIN S - RPO LL8)

Condition

Some customers may comment on a rattle type noise coming from under the vehicle.

Cause

This condition may be caused by one of the transmission oil cooler lines contacting the exhaust catalytic converter.

Correction

Raise the vehicle and carefully reposition the transmission oil cooler line(s) to provide 10 mm (0.393 in) clearance between the exhaust catalytic converter and the line. Replace the transmission oil cooler line if any damage is present.
