Seat Back Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the front bucket seat assembly from the vehicle.
2. Remove the seat cushion trim panel.
3. Remove the seat belt anchor nut.




4. Release the J-strips (1,4) across the bottom of the seat back cover.






Important: When separating the hook and loop retaining strips on the seat cover, do not pull the adhesive-backed band from the seat pad.

5. Remove the pushpins (3) securing the seat cover (2) to the seat frame.
6. Carefully separate the hook and loop retaining strips, and lift the seat cover in order to expose the lower half of the seat back pad.




7. Remove the seat back pivot bolt.




8. Remove the 2 bolts from the seat back recliner arm.
9. Remove the seat back assembly from the seat adjuster.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the seat back to the seat adjuster.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the seat back to the seat back recliner arm with the 2 bolts.

Tighten the bolts for the seat back recliner arm to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).




3. Install the seat back pivot bolt.

Tighten the seat back pivot bolt to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).




4. Pull the seat back cover down over the seat back pad.
5. Attach the hook and loop retaining strips by running your hand over the seat cover.




6. Fasten the J-strips (1,4) across the bottom of the seat back cover.
7. Install the seat cover flaps (2) to the seat frame with pushpins (3).




8. Install the seat belt anchor.

Tighten the seat belt anchor nut to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).

9. Install the seat cushion trim panel.
10. Install the front bucket seat assembly to the vehicle.
