Battery Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery.
2. Disconnect the battery positive cable from the battery.
3. Remove the radiator support cover.
4. Remove the bolts that retain the battery tray brace to the body.
5. Remove the battery cooler hose.




6. Remove the battery cover.




7. Remove the battery hold down nut (3) and remove the retainer (1) and the washer.
8. Remove the battery.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the battery.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the battery hold down retainer (1) with the nut (3) and the washer.

Tighten
Tighten the hold down nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).




3. Install the battery cover.
4. Install the battery cooler hose.




5. Install the bolts that retain the battery tray brace to the body.

Tighten
Tighten the battery tray brace bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

8. Install the radiator support cover.
7. Connect the battery positive cable to the battery.

Tighten
Tighten the battery positive cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

8. Connect battery negative cable.
