Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement
UNDERHOOD ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Open and support the hood.
2. Remove the cover from the underhood electrical center.
3. Remove the bolt retaining the underhood electrical center to the upper tie bar.
4. Rotate and remove the electrical center from the right sheet metal diagonal brace.
5. Remove the right sheet metal diagonal brace.
6. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Remove the nut (1) retaining the positive battery cable to the underhood electrical center.
8. Remove the positive battery cable lead (2) from the stud.
9. Remove the lower cover from the underhood electrical center.
10. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the underhood electrical center.
11. Remove the underhood electrical center.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the underhood electrical center to the engine compartment.
2. Install the electrical connectors to the underhood electrical center.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the underhood accessory wiring junction block electrical harness bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
3. Install the underhood electrical center lower cover.
4. Install the positive battery cable lead (2) to the stud on the underhood electrical center.
5. Install the positive battery cable retaining nut (1).
Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
7. Install the right sheet metal diagonal brace.
8. Position the underhood electrical center to the right sheet metal diagonal brace and rotate into position.
9. Install the bolt to the electrical center at the upper tie bar.
Tighten
Tighten the underhood electrical center to upper tie bar bolt to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
10. Install the underhood electrical center cover.
11. Close the hood.
