Procedure
1. Remove the actuator.2. Locate the optic sensor. Refer to the illustration above.
3. Remove the optic sensor by pushing in on the tangs on the outer ends. Refer to the illustration above.
4. Remove the seven T-20 TORX(R) head screws. Refer to the illustration above.
5. Remove the spring and roller assemblies. Refer to the illustration above.
6. Remove the prevailing torque nut. Refer to the illustration above.
Important:
It is important that you wear gloves when handling the magnetic clutch in the next steps.
7. Remove the cable and drum assembly and remove the clutch. Refer to the illustration above.
8. Make sure the actuator housing is not damaged.
9. Wind the cables around the drum as shown in the illustration.
10. Install the cable and drum assembly. Refer to the illustration above.
11. Wearing gloves, install the base of the magnetic clutch. The tab on the bottom can go anywhere in the slot between the two arrows. Refer to the illustration above.
12. Install the new wave washer. Refer to the illustration above.
13. Install the magnetic clutch. Refer to the illustration above.
14. Install the new torque prevailing nut until bottomed out and then back off 1 turn. Refer to the illustration above.
15. Push down on the drum. There should be approximately 1 mm clearance between the nut and the drum. Refer to the illustration above.
16. Install the roller and spring assemblies. Refer to the illustration above.
17. Install the seven T-20 TORX(R) head screws by hand - (No Power Tool).
18. Push on the roller assemblies to make sure they are tree. Refer to the illustration above.
19. Install the optic sensor.
20. Pull the cable from both ends to make sure it operates smoothly. Refer to the illustration above.
21. Reinstall the actuator assembly.
22. Adjust the actuator tension.
23. Check the operation of the door.
24. Reinstall the rear quarter trim.
