Disassembly
Differential Carrier Assembly-DisassembleImportant: Do not disassemble the side cover or differential assembly. Oil seal damage or the entry of foreign material into the hydraulic system may effect system operation.
1. Remove the lubricant drain plug (2) and gasket from the differential. Allow the lubricant to drain.
2. Remove the clamp (2) and vent hose assembly (1 ) from the differential (3).
3. Remove the clutch pump check valve bolts (4 and 5) and valve (3) from the differential.
4. Remove the O-ring seals (1 and 2) from the valve, if required. The O-ring seals may be reused if not cut or damaged.
Important: Do not remove the dampers from the torque tube. Removal and reinstallation may effect component noise and/or vibration levels.
5. Remove the nut (1), bolt (7), washers (2 and 8), and spacers (3 and 6) from the tube (9).
6. Remove the bracket (4) from the tube (9).
7. Remove the bolts (1 ) from the differential.
8. Separate the torque tube (1) from the differential (2).
9. Remove the bolts (1) from the differential.
10. Remove the pinion and housing assembly (1) and shim (2) from the differential (3).
11. Remove the oil seal (1) and O-ring (3) from the pinion housing (2).
12. Remove the left axle shaft oil seal (1) from the differential.
13. Remove the right axle shaft oil seal (1) from the differential.
