A/C Compressor Control Test

A/C Control Head Connector Test:

1. Measure the voltage to ground at terminal C and E of the A/C Control Head. Leave the connector in place.

^ If voltages are correct, proceed to Step 2.
^ If voltage at terminal E is incorrect, check Fuse 22 by operating the Trunk Release. If fuse is good, check for an open in the BRN (50) wire.
^ If voltage at only terminal C is incorrect, replace the A/C Control Head.

2. Check the condition of the A/C Low Pressure Cut-Off Switch and the A/C High Pressure Cut-Off Switch. Remove the connector from each switch and connect a fused jumper between the terminals of the connector.

^ If the switch is open, Battery voltage will be present at the A/C Compressor Control Relay when the jumper is connected.
^ If the Pressure A/C Low Pressure Switch is open, check that refrigerant pressure is 172 kPa (26 psi) or higher. If it is, replace the switch.
^ If all the switches are good, check the wiring between switches for an open.
