1. Disconnect battery ground cable and electrical connector to pulse generator.
2. Remove distributor cap, rotor and dust shield.
3. Remove screw securing breaker plate from side of distributor body, FIG 3.
4. Pull pulse generator harness insulator from slot in distributor body.
5. Remove screws securing pulse generator to breaker plate, then the pulse generator/magnet assembly.
6. Position replacement pulse generator assembly on breaker plate, seat harness insulator in distributor body and lightly tighten screws.
7. Rotate distributor shaft until trigger wheel is directly opposite pulse generator pole piece.
8. Adjust gap between trigger wheel and pole piece to .012 - .020 inch using non-magnetic feeler gauges, then securely tighten pole piece retaining screws.
9. Reverse remaining procedure to complete installation.
10. Check and adjust ignition timing, as needed.
