88peugeot03

BULLETIN NO. 284

DATE: July, 1988
SUBJECT: REFILLING AND BLEEDING COOLING SYSTEM

MODELS: N9T-N9TE-N9TEA TURBO ENGINE VEHICLES

It has come to our attention that cooling system refilling/bleeding problems have been experienced on Turbo engines after the cooling system has been drained during repair procedures.

We would like to bring to your attention the very important first step that must be carried out when refilling the cooling system, in order to eliminate air pockets in the system.

Refilling Cooling System:

- Engine not running at this time

- Place the temperature control lever on Full Hot (red mark),
Note: 1985 model year N9T only

- Remove the thermocontact (M862) located below the thermostat housing

- Fill the radiator until coolant runs out through the thermocontact opening

- Reinstall the thermocontact
- Continue refilling and bleeding the cooling system following the procedure shown on pages J3002, J3003, J3004, and J3005 of the N9T/N9TE/N9TEA Workshop Manual
