Subject: 1985 505 TURBO FUEL INJECTION AND TURBO DIESEL STI SNOW TIRE RECOMMENDATIONS


The 505 Turbo and STI Turbo diesel are fitted with 195/60 HR 15 Michelin MXV tires as original equipment. 60 series snow tires are not readily available in the aftermarket.

OPTION 1:

The Michelin 175/70 R 15 X M+S 200 is the recommended snow tire replacement for the size 195/60 R 15.

- These tires are directional and must be mounted in the direction of rotation indicated on side wall.

- The X M+S 200 is equipped with stud holes. The stud hole diameter is 2 mm and the hole depth is 10.5 mm.

NOTE: Check local state laws for regulations as to when and where studded tires may be used.

For best performance these tires should be mounted in sets of four on the original equipment alloy wheels, Part Number 9605.91.


OPTION 2:

Michelin 185/70 R 14 M + S (mud & snow) or
P185/70 R 14 XA4 All-Season Radial

The recommended steel wheels for the size 185/70 R 14 is Part
Number: 5403.53.

For best performance, these tires should be mounted in sets of four.
