Deceleration Fuel Injection Cut-Out System

1. With engine OFF and coolant temperature below 104°F, disconnect electrical connector wire No. 157 from thermo switch as shown in Fig. 8.
2. Start and increase engine speed to 1800 RPM or more, then release throttle.
3. An audible noise should be heard coming from the electro valve. If noise is heard, connect wire No. 157 to thermo switch. If no noise is heard, disconnect power supply electrical connector from electro valve.
4. Connect a test light to electro valve electrical connector terminals. Increase engine speed to 1800 RPM or more, then release throttle.
5. If the test light comes ON then goes OFF, check vacuum hose routing. If vacuum hose routing is correct, replace electro valve. If test light does not come ON, check condition and/or adjustment of micro switch and operation of the twin speed relay. If twin speed relay is operating properly, replace speed relay.
