Checking the Centrifugal Advance Curve

Fig. 6 Distributor Test Bench Settup:





1. Disconnect the positive and negative terminals on the coil and connect them as shown in Fig. 6.
2. Turn the test bench on.
3. Turn the distributor at 500 rpm.

4. Zero the dail as shown in Fig. 7.
The width of the illluminated span will vary in relation to the distributor rpm.
To test the development of the centrifugal advance curve it is necessary to use the (A) reference of the illuminated dial, Fig. 7.

5. If the graphed test curve does not correspond to the theoretical curve, Fig 8, modify the spring anchors (1) of both springs as shown in Fig 9.
