Four speed ZF model "4HP22" automatic transmissions with a lock-up converter are available on all 1986 Peugeot models. Transmission repair and replacement policies remain the same as before.

The reverse clutch on the 4HP22 requires 1-1/2 seconds to engage fully. If the throttle is depressed prior to full reverse clutch engagement, the vehicle will begin to move with the clutch partially engaged. A thud may be heard when full engagement occurs.
