SUBJECT: PARTS DEPARTMENT SUPERCESSION OF GLOVE BOX STRIKER, FRAME AND LATCH

MODELS: 1986 AND 1987 MODEL YEAR 505 VEHICLES


The National Parts Department no longer supplies P/N 8214.60 Glove Box Striker Frame for 1986 and 1987 505 vehicles. It is necessary to order the following parts for vehicles requiring this repair:

8214.L5 Striker Frame
8214.L7 Glove Box Latch
8221.37 Striker

INSTALLATION:

- The glove box striker frame and striker are a straightforward replacement. See Service Bulletin No. 174, Class 13, dated March, 1986, for step-by-step instructions.





- The latch requires a slight modification by trimming the slide area of the latch as shown in image.


- Install the latch. Open and close the glove box several times to check engagement. If necessary, adjust striker.
