Interior - Wind Noise from Left & Right Front Doors

SUBJECT: RESEAL 1986 SIDE VIEW MIRROR GUSSETS

SYMPTOM:

The wind noise emanates from left and right front doors caused by:

A) The attachment of the mirror to the door gusset not being sealed.
B) The 4 mm hole in the outer door panel, under the gusset moulding, not being blanked off.

CHANGES IN PRODUCTION

- The fitting of a polyurethane foam filler in the center of the gusset.
- The deletion of the unused 4 mm hole.



SERVICE REPAIR PROCEDURE

- Remove the side view mirror.

- Fit a 50 mm diameter and 20 mm thick blanking plug (1) P.N. 9033.44 in the center hole of the gusset with the closed (black) side facing outwards.

- Seal the 4 mm unused hole (a) with caulk sealer.

- Reinstall the mirror.

- P.N. 9033.44 - 2 per vehicle
- Caulk sealer

Warranty repair will be accepted within the new vehicle limited warranty period. For claim preparation and submission, the following Damage Code, Main Operation, and Time Allowance are to be used:
