SUBJECT: 505 SUNROOF REPAIRS

This Service Bulletin will recap the various problems which may be encountered on 505 sunroofs and the recommended repair procedures to fix the following operating difficulties:

1) Scratched sunroof panel
2) Slow and chattering operation of sunroof panel
3) Noises from sunroof panel

NOTE: Additional information and illustrations are given in Section 13 of the Workshop Manual, Ref. 2612 US. 15, Service Bulletins Nos. 031 and 101 (Section 11).

Mandatory operations to be performed whenever repairing a sunroof:

1) Trim the upper and lower lips of sunroof rear seal (see pages 6 and 7).
2) On vehicles manufactured prior to 11/85, reduce the width of the mobile panel trim liner (1 mm on each side). See page 8.
3) Check retention of trim beading, replace if necessary, install trim beading under the front trim aluminum frame (4).
