Introduction: Changes include a new dashboard, suspension revisions, a new automatic transmission, and the addition of an air-to-air intercooler on the turbo gas engine. The resulting increases in horsepower and torque for this engine are:

Horsepower: From 142 @ 5600 RPM to 150 @ 5000 RPM
Torque: From 22.6 daN-m @ 3800 RPM to 25 daN-m @ 2750/3000 RPM

This engine is now designated N9TE and is available in sedans with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission and in station wagons with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
