Fuel Supply Pressure Regulator

1. Drain the metering distributor of all its fuel by disconnecting the flexible hose to injector number 4, placing it in a fuel safe container, and activating the air flow sensor flap. Reconnect the injector line.
2. Remove the fuel pressure regulator as follows:
3. Remove the cap nut.
4. Save the adjusting shims.
5. Remove the spring (7), Fig. 17 and the piston (8), Fig. 17, using a wooden peg (9), Fig. 17 for the removal.
6. Remove the transfer valve as follows:
7. Remove the cap nut (11), Fig. 17.
8. Push the spring stop (12), Fig. 17, towards the right.
9. Remove the circlip (13), Fig. 17.
10. Remove the transfer valve.
11. Check the condition of the various "O" rings (14), Fig. 17 and replace them if necessary.

12. If the pressure is too high reduce the thickness of the shims, Fig. 25.
13. If the pressure is too low increase the thickness of the shims, Fig. 25.
