Fuel Mixture

NOTE: Richness at idle is adjusted by measuring the voltage signal from the injection ECU.

1. Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
2. Check to ensure that the ignition system is in proper working order.
3. Check that the air filter is in good condition and in place on the vehicle.
4. Check to ensure the idle speed is 750 +50 rpm.

Test Terminal Locations:

5. Connect a digital voltmeter to the connector #22, located along the right inner front fender, near the air filter assembly. With the engine running an alternating sweep from 0-13 volts indicates a correct adjustment.

Adjustment

1. Remove the air flow sensor from the vehicle.

Air Fuel Ratio Adjustment Screw:

2. Drill the center portion of the do not tamper plug, on the air flow sensor, using a (4.5mm) bit, to a depth of (5mm) maximum.
3. Thread a self tapping screw into the plug and remove it.
4. Reinstall the air flow sensor on the vehicle.
5. Run the engine until normal operating temperature is obtained.
6. Adjust the screw to obtain an alternating sweep from 0-13 volts.
7. Reinstall a new do not tamper plug on the air flow sensor.
