Ignition Switch: Service and Repair
1. On models with tilt column, remove tilt lever.2. On all models, remove three upper and lower cover attaching screws, then the covers.

3. Remove three ignition switch attaching screws with tamper proof Torx bit Snap-On tool No. TTXR20A2, or equivalent then carefully pull switch away from column.
4. Disconnect and remove ignition switch wiring connector.
5. Remove Lock cylinder from ignition switch as follows:
a. Insert key and place ignition switch in Lock position.

b. Use a small screwdriver to depress key cylinder retaining pin flush with key cylinder surface.
c. On all models, rotate key clockwise to Off position. Although cylinder will be unseated do not attempt to remove yet.
d. Rotate key to counterclockwise Lock position, then remove key.
e. Remove key cylinder.
Installation
1. Connect wiring connectors to switch ensuring lock tabs are fully seated.
2. On models with tilt column, shifter must be in Park position with park lock dowel pin and column lock flag properly positioned. Procedure as follows:
a. Place shifter in Park position.
b. Put ignition switch in Lock position by ensuring lock flag is parallel to switch terminals.
3. On all models, place ignition switch against lock housing opening, ensuring park lock dowel pin enters park lock slider linkage slot.
4. Install retaining screw and bracket. Torque to 17 inch lbs.
5. Install cover to column. Torque to 17 inch lbs.
6. On models with tilt column, install tilt lever.
7. On all models, with key cylinder and ignition switch in Lock position, inset cylinder into switch until it bottoms.
8. Insert key, then push key cylinder in and rotate cylinder clockwise to end of travel.
9. Connect battery ground cable, then ensure proper operation of all switch and lock functions.
