Fog/Driving Lamp: Description and Operation

With the Ignition Switch in "RUN," "BULB TEST" or "START," voltage is applied through the TURN B/U Fuse to the Fog Lamp Relay. The coil of the Fog Lamp Relay receives voltage whenever the Headlamp/I/P Dimmer Switch is in "PARK" or "HEAD" and is grounded through the HI Beam Headlamp Filaments to G106 and G107. With both power and ground applied to the coil, its contacts close, thus providing voltage to the Fog Lamp Switch. If the Fog Lamp Switch is "ON," voltage is applied to the Fog Lamps. The Fog Lamps are grounded to G106 and G107. With power and ground applied, the Fog Lamps light. If the HI Beam Headlamps are turned "ON" with the Fog Lamp "ON," the Fog Lamps will go out. This is because voltage is now being applied to the HI Beam Filaments.
