Content Theft Deterrent Arming and Disarming Modes

To customize the Content Theft Deterrent Arming and Disarming Modes pull the Body Control Module (BCM) PRGRM Fuse from the fuse panel and then turn the Ignition Switch to "ACCESSORY" The seat belt telltale flashes and the chime sounds 2-4 times to indicate that the vehicle is in a feature customization mode. In addition, the Door Lock Cylinder Switch must be rotated to the "UNLOCK" position during Content Theft Deterrent Arming and Disarming programming. Each time the "ALARM" button is pressed on the RKE Transmitter, the seat belt telltale flashes and the chime sounds a number of times equal to the current customization mode number as shown below:
1. Mode 1: The Content Theft Deterrent System will arm when you lock the doors with the key or the RKE Transmitter. The key must be removed from the ignition when you lock the doors or the Content Theft Deterrent System will not arm. The Content Theft Deterrent System will disarm when you unlock the doors with the key or the RKE Transmitter.
2. Mode 2: The Content Theft Deterrent System will arm when you lock the doors with the RKE Transmitter. The key must be removed from the ignition when you lock the doors or the Content Theft Deterrent System will not arm. The Content Theft Deterrent System will disarm when you unlock the doors with the RKE Transmitter. Special Note: While this mode provides increased security, it can be a problem if the RKE Transmitter is damaged, lost, or if it fails to operate for any reason while the Content Theft Deterrent System is armed. The Content Theft Deterrent System must be disarmed for the engine to run and while in mode 2, the key can no longer disarm the system.
3. Mode 3: The Content Theft Deterrent System will arm when you lock the doors using either Door Lock Switch while any door or the liftgate is open and the key is removed from the ignition. The Content Theft Deterrent System will arm when you lock the doors with the key or the RKE Transmitter. The key must be removed from the ignition when you lock the doors or the Content Theft Deterrent System will not arm. The Content Theft Deterrent System will disarm when you unlock the doors with the key or the RKE Transmitter. Each time the "ALARM" button is pressed on the RKE Transmitter the mode number will advance. A transition past mode 3 will repeat starting again at mode 1. To exit and save the current customization, remove the key from the Door Lock Cylinder Switch, take the Ignition Switch out of "ACCESSORY" and replace the BCM PRGRM Fuse back into the fuse panel. If you desire to customize other features, customize them before reinstalling the BCM PRGRM Fuse into the fuse panel.
