Programming and Relearning
IMPORTANT: Before Reinitialization of the Power Sliding Door (PSD), check for stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) first. Refer to Diagnostic Modes.Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) will be lost if the following happens:
A. Disconnection of the battery.
B. Low or dead battery.
C. Removal or blown RADIO Fuse.
D. Exiting PSD Diagnostic Mode.
Conditions that may cause the Rear Side Door Actuator Control Module to lose
memory or go in an inoperative state:
A. Disconnection of the battery.
B. Low or dead battery.
C. Removal or blown RADIO Fuse.
D. Removal or blown PSD Fuse.
E. Removal or blown PWR SEAT/PSD Fuse.
F. Removal or blown B/U I/P Fuse.
G. Exiting PSD Diagnostics.
The Reinitialization procedure is necessary whenever any of the above occur.
PSD Reinitialization Procedure
To Reinitialize the Rear Side Door Actuator Control Module:
1. Turn the Ignition Switch to the "LOCK" position.
2. Power Sliding Door Lockout Switch (Interior Lamp and Multi-function Switch) in the "OFF" position.
3. Make sure the Sliding Door is in the fully closed and latched position and unlocked.
4. Remove the RADIO Fuse, from the Underhood (UH) Electrical Center.
5. Keep the RADIO Fuse out for 30 seconds.
6. Reinstall the RADIO Fuse.
7. Wait 10 seconds.
8. Power Sliding Door Lockout Switch (Interior Lamp and Multi-function Switch) moved to the "ON" position.
9. Cycle the PSD fully open until door stops, using the Power Sliding Door Open/Close Switch (Interior Lamp and Multi-function Switch), or the RH "B" Pillar Open/Close Switch (RR Door Latch Release Actuator Switch).
10. Wait 5 seconds and cycle PSD fully closed.
11. Wait 5 seconds and repeat step 9.
- If the door doesn't rest in the fully open position, repeat step 9 again.
12. Wait 5 seconds and cycle PSD fully closed.
13. Check PSD for proper function.
