Troubleshooting Hints

1. Check the B/U I/P Fuse for an open. If the fuse is blown check CKT 840 for a short to ground.
2. Check the IGN 1 Fuse for an open. If the fuse is blown check CKT 39 for a short to ground.
3. Check the CTSY LAMP Fuse for an open. If the fuse is blown check CKT 240 for a short to ground.
4. Check the MALL/RADIO/DIC Fuse for an open. If the fuse is blown check CKT 43 for a short to ground.
5. Check the PWR LOCK Fuse for an open. If the fuse is blown check CKT 1540 for a short to ground.
6. Check that G200, G302, and G401 are clean and tight.
7. Check for mechanical binds in the Door Lock System.
8. If one of the Actuators does not operate properly, but the other Actuators function normally, check the wiring to the suspect Actuator. If the wiring is correct, check for a poor connection. If OK, replace the Actuator.
9. Each Actuator contains an electronic circuit breaker. The resistance in the Actuator increases if the Actuator is overloaded and the resistance will return to normal after voltage is removed from the Actuator terminals.
10. If the Automatic Door Lock Operation Modes are not functioning properly, set the mode the customer wants and test its function. If it is inoperative refer to the Symptom Table for appropriate diagnostic procedure.
11. If the Last Door Closed Locking and Lockout Deterrent Modes are not functioning properly, set the mode the customer wants and test its function. If it is inoperative refer to the Symptom Table for appropriate diagnostic procedure.
12. If the Content Theft Deterrent System is active the doors cannot be unlocked. Disable the Content Theft Deterrent System by unlocking the doors using the Door Lock Cylinder Switch or the RKE Transmitter, and see if the doors operate normally.
13. Always check terminal contact before replacing any component.

- Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
