Parking Brake System: Adjustments
1. Adjust rear brakes. Adjustments2. Apply parking brake to 10 clicks and release. Repeat 5 times.
3. Check parking brake pedal for full release.
a. Turn ignition to "ON" and check that "BRAKE" indicator light is off.
b. If light is on and the brake appears to be released, make sure pedal is in release mode and fully returned to stop and pull downward on the front parking brake cable to remove slack.
4. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
5. Adjust parking brake by turning nut on equalizer while spinning both rear wheels. When either rear wheel develops drag, stop adjusting and back off equalizer nut one full turn.
6. Apply parking brake to 4 clicks and check rear wheel rotation.
- Wheel should not move when one attempts to rotate it by hand in a forward direction. Wheel should drag or not move when attempting to rotate it in a rearward direction.
7. Release parking brake and check for free wheel rotation.
8. Lower vehicle.
