Engine Installation

1. Install the engine from the transaxle/frame to engine stand.
2. Install the lower engine/transaxle/frame from the vehicle.
3. Install the frame-to-body bolts/screws. Refer to Body and Frame.
4. Remove the transaxle table.
5. Install the intermediate shaft to steering gear. Refer to Steering and Suspension.

CAUTION: When installing the intermediate the intermediate shaft make sure that the shaft is seated prior to pinch bolt installation. If the pinch bolt is inserted into the coupling before shaft installation, the two mating shafts may disengage.

6. Install the pinch bolt/screw at the intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Steering and Suspension.
7. Connect the drive axles to the transaxle. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
8. Install the transaxle cooler lines and bracket from the transaxle. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
9. Install the lower ball joints from the knuckles. Refer to Steering and Suspension.
10. Install the tie rod ends from the steering knuckles. Refer to Steering and Suspension.
11. Install the stabilizer shaft links from the lower control arms. Refer to Steering and Suspension.
12. Install the inner fender splash shield. Refer to Body and Frame.
13. Install the front tires and wheels. Refer to Steering and Suspension.
14. Install the three-way catalytic converter exhaust pipe from the right (rear) exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust System.
15. Install the wiring harness grounds.
16. Lower the vehicle.
17. Install the automatic transaxle range selector lever cable. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
18. Install the brake booster hose. Refer to Powertrain Management.
19. Install the vacuum lines from the engine. Refer to Powertrain Management.
20. Install the engine wiring harness connectors.
21. Install the fuel lines. Refer to Powertrain Management.
22. Install the throttle body bracket and cables. Refer to Powertrain Management.
23. Install the engine mount strut.
24. Connect the heater hoses to the engine. Refer to Cooling System.
25. Connect the radiator hoses to the engine. Refer to Cooling System.
26. Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Cooling System.
27. Fill the transaxle with fluid. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
28. Fill the engine with oil.
29. Install the air cleaner duct. Refer to Powertrain Management.
30. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
31. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable.
32. Inspect for proper fluid levels and possible fluid leaks.
