Rear A/C
NOTICE: The refrigeration system on this vehicle uses R-134a which is not compatible with refrigerant R-12. Before servicing the system, always make sure the proper servicing equipment is used, or the system could become severely damaged. Always refer to the service text and manufacturer instructions included with service equipment before proceeding.Side Window Defogging
In all modes but "OFF" and "UPPER," air is supplied to the side window defogger outlets located at both ends of the instrument panel.
Rear Air Conditioning (C34)
A rear air conditioning option (C34) is available which provides an increased level of comfort for passengers in the rear of the vehicle. Major components of the rear air conditioning system include:
^ Additional underhood heater hoses/pipes.
^ Front-to-rear heater hoses/pipes.
^ Additional underhood refrigerant hoses/pipes.
^ Rear fan-master control.
^ Rear fan-temperature control.
^ Heater A/C module, consisting of the blower motor, blower motor resistor, rear hoses (inlet/outlet), heater core, refrigerant hoses (evaporator core inlet and outlet), evaporator core and a thermal expansion valve.
The heater A/C module (rear) is an independent heating and air conditioning system located behind the LH quarter trim panel. Coolant flow to the rear heater core is routed through additional heater hoses/pipes from the engine compartment, under the vehicle to the heater A/C module (rear). Refrigerant flow to the rear evaporator is supplied directly from the front air conditioning system that has extended hoses and pipes routed from the engine compartment, under vehicle to the heater A/C module.
