Spark Plug Wire Routing Engine Rear View:

NOTICE: Pull on spark plug boot or heat shield only, twisting a half turn to release seal while removing. Do not pull on the spark plug wire or it may be damaged.

Remove or Disconnect
1. Turn the ignition "OFF."


Important: Note position of wires and wire looms before removing.

2. Spark plug wires from front spark plugs by twisting the boot 1/2 turn before removing.
3. Spark plug wire retaining clips from engine.
4. Rotate engine. Refer to Engine Mechanical.
5. Spark plug wires from rear spark plugs.
6. Spark plug wire retaining clips from rear of engine.
7. Spark plug wires from coil pack.
8. Spark plug wires.
9. If replacing the spark plug wires, transfer any of the following:
^ Boot heat shields.
^ Spark plug wire conduit.
^ Spark plug wire retaining clips.


Install or Connect
1. Spark plug wires.
2. Spark plug wires to coil pack.
3. Spark plug wires to rear spark plugs.
4. Spark plug wire retaining clips to rear of engine.
5. Return engine to proper position. Refer to Engine Mechanical.
6. Spark plug wires to spark plugs.
7. Spark plug wire retaining clips to front of engine.
