Wheel Hub: Service and Repair

REAR HUB/BEARING






REMOVAL
Remove or disconnect the following:
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
2. Tire and wheel.
3. Brake drum.

CAUTION: Do not hammer on brake drum as damage to the bearing could result.

4. Rear wheel hub from axle.
5. Wheel speed sensor electrical connector from hub.

NOTE: The bolts which attach the rear wheel hub also support the brake. When removing these bolts, support the brake with a wire or other means. Do not let the brake line support the brake assembly.

INSTALLATION
Install or connect the following:
1. Wheel speed sensor electrical connector at hub.
2. Rear wheel hub to rear axle bolts.
^ Tighten bolts to 85 Nm (63 lb ft).
3. Brake drum.
4. Tire and wheel.
5. Lower vehicle.
