Data Link Connector: Description and Operation

There are three data lines that can he accessed with a Scan Tool: the UART Serial Data Line (800 circuit), CLASS II Serial Data Line (1807 circuit), and the Entertainment and Comfort Serial Data Line (1835 circuit). The 800 circuit, UART Serial Data Line, allows the Powertrain Control Module, Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM), Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM) (if equipped), and Driver Information Display (DID) to communicate by transmitting data through CKT 800. The 1807 circuit, Class II Serial Data Line, is to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). It allows the PCM to communicate by transmitting data through CKT 1807. The 835 circuit, Entertainment and Comfort Serial Data Line, is the entertainment package consisting of the Radio which allows the Scan Tool to test the functions of the Radio. System operations can then be monitored for diagnostic purposes through the Scan Tool for each Serial Data Line.
