Separating Front Lower Control Arm Ball Stud

^ Tool Required:
- J 41820 Ball Joint/Stud Separator
- Or Equivalent

REMOVAL
Remove or disconnect the following:
1. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
2. Tire and wheel.
3. Cotter pin from ball stud and loosen nut. Do not remove nut at this time.
4. Ball Joint/Stud Separator to vehicle.
5. Loosen nut until it the ball stud separates from steering knuckle.
6. Ball Joint/Stud Separator from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
Install or connect the following:
1. Ball stud to steering knuckle.
2. Nut to ball stud and tighten.
^ Tighten:
- Front lower control arm ball stud to knuckle nut to 55 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
- Align slots to front lower control arm ball stud nut with cotter pin hole by tightening nut. DO NOT loosen nut to align holes for cotter pin.
3. New cotter pin.
4. Tire and wheel.
5. Lower vehicle.
