Install or Connect
Important:Refer to "Fastener Notice" on page 8E1 of the Service Manual.
Important:
Left and right wiper blade assemblies are not interchangeable. Wiper blade assemblies can be identified by an "L" (left) or "R" (right) on the back of the wiper blade assembly frame.
1. Wiper blade assembly (1) on wiper arm assembly (2).
a. Install wiper blade assembly (1) in the inside radius of wiper arm assembly (2).
b. Push clip (B) down until it snaps into place.
2. Wiper arm assembly (2) on wiper linkage assembly drive shaft (D).
a. Put ignition switch in "ACCY" position.
b. Set wiper switch to "PULSE" position. Windshield wiper drive system should be operating.
c. Turn ignition switch off when the wiper drive system is in the innerwipe position and not moving.
d. Install the left or right wiper arm assembly (2) on wiper linkage assembly drive shaft (D) while maintaining the following distances:
- RIGHT (F) - 123 mm (4.80 in.) from top of wiper blade assembly (1) up to the upper solid edge of the windshield blackout area (E). Do not include shaded area in the measurement. Measurement must be taken at the outside end of the wiper blade assembly (1).
- LEFT (G) - 147 mm (5.76 in.) from bottom of wiper blade assembly (1) down to the upper solid edge of the windshield blackout area (E). Do not measure to the edge of the shaded area. Measurement must be taken at the outside end of the wiper blade assembly (1).
3. Nut (4) on wiper linkage assembly drive shaft (D) and wiper arm assembly (2).
Tighten
Tighten Nut to 48 N.m (35 lb. ft).
4. Cover (3) on nut (4).
Important:
Lubricate washer hose with windshield washer solvent to ease installation on washer nozzle.
5. Washer hose (5) on washer nozzle.
6. Operate wipers and check for proper operation.
