Compressor Hose Assembly

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the air cleaner cover and duct assembly.
2. Recover the refrigerant.





3. Remove the compressor line block fitting at the accumulator.
4. Remove the compressor line block fitting at the rear suction line (C34 only).





5. Remove the compressor line block fitting at the condenser.





6. Remove the compressor condenser hose assembly at the compressor.

Important: Remove and discard all of the used O-rings and sealing washers.

7. Remove the compressor condenser hose assembly.

Installation Procedure

1. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the A/C refrigerant hose and the A/C refrigerant component.
2. Lightly coat the new O-ring seals (1) with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

Important: DO NOT allow any of the mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the new O-ring seals to enter the refrigerant system.





3. Carefully slide the new O-ring seals (1) onto the condenser and accumulator line block fittings until seated.
Allow a light coating of the refrigerant oil to remain on the A/C refrigerant hose in the area indicated (2) ONLY.





4. Install the compressor condenser hose assembly.





5. Install the compressor condenser hose assembly at the rear of the compressor, using new sealing washers(1).

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).





6. Install the compressor line block fitting at the condenser.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (11 lb ft).

7. Install the compressor line block fitting at the rear suction line (C24 only).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (11 lb ft).





8. Install the compressor line block fitting at the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (11 lb ft).

9. Evacuate, charge and leak test the system.
10. Install the air cleaner cover and duct assembly.
