Input Clutch and Third Clutch Disassemble

^ Tools Required
- J 25018-A Adaptor
- J 28585 Snap Ring Pliers
- J 23327 Clutch Spring Compressor





1. Use a flat blade screwdriver in order to remove the snap ring (659) from the input clutch housing (632).
2. Remove the input clutch backing plate (658).
3. Remove all of the input clutch plate assemblies (656, 657).
4. Remove the input clutch waved plate (655) and the input clutch apply plate (654).





5. Use a flat blade screwdriver in order to remove the snap ring (649) from the third clutch housing (632).
6. Remove the third clutch backing plate (648).
7. Remove the third clutch plate assembly (646, 647).
8. Remove the third clutch waved plate (645).





9. Remove the input shaft thrust bearing assembly (644).





10. Use J 23327 and J 25018-A in order to compress the third clutch spring assembly.

IMPORTANT: Do not overexpand the snap ring during removal.

11. Use J 28585 in order to remove the snap ring (640) from the third clutch housing.





12. Remove the third clutch spring assembly (643).
13. Remove the third clutch piston and seal assembly (642).





14. Use J 23327 in order to compress the third clutch piston housing.

IMPORTANT: Do not overexpand the snap ring during removal.

15. Use J 28585 in order to remove the snap ring (640) from the third clutch piston housing.





16. Remove the tools from the input clutch housing assembly.
17. Remove the third clutch piston housing (639).
18. Remove the input clutch spring assembly (637).
19. Remove the input clutch piston assembly (636).





20. Remove the input clutch piston outer seal (635).





21. Remove the third clutch piston inner seal (641).
22. Remove the third clutch housing seal (638).
23. Remove the input clutch piston inner seal (634).

IMPORTANT: Do not damage the grooves on the shaft when you remove the oil seal ring.

24. Cut the input clutch housing oil seal rings (628).
25. Remove the oil seals rings
