RPO Code C69 (HVAC RR Air Conditioner)

HEATER HOSE REPLACEMENT - OUTLET (WITH RPO CODE C69)

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the left wiper arm linkage nuts.
Reposition the left wiper arm linkage for access.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
4. Remove the air cleaner cover and intake tube.
5. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting bracket.

IMPORTANT: Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables to prevent bending the cable housings.

6. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube.
7. Release the outlet heater hose quick connect from the outlet pipe (4).




8. Disconnect the outlet heater hose (3) from the outlet pipe (4).




9. Reposition the outlet heater hose clamp at the heater core using the J 38185.
10. Disconnect the outlet heater hose from the heater core.
11. Reposition the outlet heater hose clamp from the auxiliary heater outlet line using the J 38185.
12. Disconnect the outlet heater hose from the auxiliary heater outlet line.
13. Remove the outlet heater hose.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the outlet heater hose.
2. Connect the outlet heater hose to the auxiliary heater outlet line.
3. Reposition the outlet heater hose clamp at the auxiliary heater outlet line using the J 38185.
4. Connect the outlet heater hose to the heater core.
5. Reposition the outlet heater hose clamp at the heater core using the J 38185.




6. Connect the outlet heater hose (3) to the outlet pipe (4).
7. Install the transmission fluid filler tube.
8. Connect the throttle and cruise control cables to the TBI mounting bracket.
9. Install the air cleaner cover and intake tube.
10. Connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster.
11. Install the left wiper arm linkage.
12. Install the left wiper arm linkage nuts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Vehicle Damage Warnings

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to.....5 N.m (44 lb in).

13. Fill the cooling system.
