Condition
Some customers may comment on a static or whine type noise coming from the radio speakers. This noise occurs when the DVD player is in the off position and the customer is listening to XM(R) Radio. The noise is most apparent on channel 0, the pause between station switches, and on some talk radio stations.
Cause
This condition may occur because the DVD system shuts off a signal to the right and left speaker but does not have a switch on the circuit board to shut off the ground. The noise is being passed through the ground and back into the system.
Correction
Replace the DVD player. Refer to the DVD Player Replacement procedure in the Entertainment sub-section of the Service Manual.
