Rattle Noise from Steering Wheel and/or Upper Steering Column Area (Tape Horn Wiring Connector to Steering Wheel Wiring Harness for Cruise Control Switches)

Condition
Some customers may comment on a rattle noise from the steering wheel and/or upper steering column area.
Cause
This condition may be caused by the two-way horn wiring connector rattling against other steering wheel components.
Correction
Follow the service procedure below to secure the horn wiring connector to the steering wheel wiring harness for the cruise control switches.
Service Procedure
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SI.
2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SI.
3. Locate two-way horn wiring connector (1).
4. Tape two-way horn wiring connector to the steering wheel wiring harness for cruise control switches.
5. On Saturn VUE models, be sure to reattach the steering wheel harness connector to the upper part of steering wheel cover with hook-and-loop (Velcro(R)) fastener.
6. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SI.
7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SI.
